Privacy Policy

Effective 5 October 2026

NicDrop is made by Elco Dev (Austin Hunter). This policy explains what the app stores and why. The short version: your nicotine log is yours, we don't know who you are, and nothing is sold or used for advertising.

What we store

Your plan and log. What you told us you use, how many a day, the cost, your reasons, your quit date, and every entry and craving you log. Stored under an anonymous account ID in Google Firebase (Firestore), so it syncs if you reinstall.
An anonymous ID. The app signs you in anonymously; we never ask for your name, email or phone number.
Purchases. Subscription status is managed by RevenueCat and the store you bought through (Apple App Store or Google Play). We receive an entitlement status and purchase history, never payment details.
Coach conversations. If you use the coach (3 free messages, then Pro) and agree to the consent prompt, the messages you type and a summary of your plan are sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate a reply. They are not used to train models. We keep a per-day message count, not the messages.
Usage events. Which screens you open and what you tap (counts, choices and timings, never text you type), stored under your anonymous ID so we can improve the app.
Reminders. Scheduled on your device only. We have no push server.

What we don't do

No advertising, no ad SDKs, no tracking across apps or sites.
No selling or sharing of data with data brokers.
No location, contacts, photos or health-app access.

Service providers

Google Firebase (authentication and database), RevenueCat (purchases), Anthropic (coach replies), Apple (App Store and payments) and Google (Google Play and payments). Each processes data only to provide the service.

Deleting your data

Settings → Delete my data erases your log, plan, usage events, purchase record at RevenueCat and your anonymous account immediately. If you can't use the app, email hello@elcodev.com with the ID shown in Settings and it is erased within 7 days. Deleting data does not cancel a subscription: cancel it in the App Store or Google Play.

Children

NicDrop is for adults who use nicotine. It is for adults 18 and over and is not directed at children.

Not medical advice

NicDrop is a self-tracking tool. It does not diagnose, treat or replace advice from a clinician.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date above changes and the app links to the new version.
